The Lord just dropped this nugget in my basket and I just had to share it.
Over the last 2-3 years I have discovered that I am a very "touchy-feel" person. I love to hug people and just give a simple touch. I am absolutely convinced that many people go the whole week without a hug, smile or a simple touch. To me there is so much power in a simple touch. Sometimes I will talk to people about random things and just put my hand on their shoulder. It doesn't mean I'm trying to do anything crazy but just a simple touch.
I believe that when we give people random touches it does something for them. We all want to be love and accepted (human quality) and part of that is through touching. That's why I've always loved fellowshipping with the saints because it gives us time to hug, touch and love on one another, even though true love moves beyond words to actions. For me, Sunday morning is the first time they receive a hug or have somebody touch them. This is always why I now highly value holding hands while praying. There is something special about touching another human being.
There is power in a touch from another human. Today let us begin a journey of touching people as a sign of human love and most of all the love of Christ. Hug somebody, tell them that we're in this thing together and keep moving forward in Christ!
